At PNS-Mau we very well understand that Nursing school labs are essential learning environments where students practice and develop their skills in a safe and controlled setting before working with real patients. These labs provide a hands-on experience, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios, including simulation, skill development, and fundamental nursing procedures. 

Here’s a more detailed look at different types of labs at PNS-Mau:

1. Skill Lab:

• This lab is a primary learning ground for clinical skills, where students practice nursing procedures on mannequins or other equipment. 
• Students can learn and refine techniques like medication administration, wound care, and basic medical procedures without the risk of harming a real patient. 
• The skill lab may include simulation exercises, demonstrations, role-playing, and other interactive methods. 

2. Pre-Clinical Lab:

• This lab provides a controlled environment for students to develop their clinical skills and competencies.
• Students can practice skills in a safe space, make mistakes without fear of repercussions, and receive feedback from instructors.
• It is a bridge between theoretical knowledge and practical application, allowing students to build confidence before entering a clinical setting. 

3. Simulation Lab:

• Simulation labs use computerized mannequins or other instruments to mimic real-life scenarios and patient care.
• Students can practice critical skills like assessing patients, administering treatments, working as a team, and managing emergencies in a safe and controlled environment.
• This type of lab helps students overcome anxiety and build confidence in their abilities. 

4. Fundamental of Nursing Lab (FON Lab):

• This lab focuses on the basic foundations of nursing practice, including essential skills and knowledge.
• It provides students with a practical understanding of patient assessment, care techniques, and equipment usage. 

5. Other Specialized Labs:

• Nutrition Lab:This lab focuses on the principles of nutrition and its application in patient care, including therapeutic diets. 
• Obstetric and Gynecological (OBG) Lab:This lab provides students with hands-on experience in caring for women with reproductive health needs, including prenatal care and childbirth. 
• Pediatric Nursing Lab:This lab focuses on the specific needs of pediatric patients, including developmental considerations and age-appropriate care. 
• Public Health Nursing Lab:This lab focuses on community-based health care and prevention, including health education and outreach programs.
• Microbiology Lab:This lab introduces students to the principles of microbiology and its relevance to infection control and patient safety. 
• Computer Lab:This lab provides students with the opportunity to develop their computer skills and learn about the use of electronic health records and other technologies in nursing.
